Dan Jenkins studied trombone at the Guildhall School of Music, and took composition lessons there with Simon Wills. He has written and arranged numerous pieces, mostly for brass, including a Trombone Concerto in 1987, and Caledonian Suite for brass ten-piece in 1998. He has written music for as long as he can remember, including a very early submission to the Radio Times Theme for the Winter Olympics competition, aged 10! He left the Guildhall in 1988 and spent six years travelling round the country with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. Nowadays, he works as a freelance trombonist in London, playing with all the major London Orchestras and Ensembles. He has also written a book about world travel as a freelance musician. He is married and lives in North London.
