Jonathan Dove, born in 1959, is best known as a composer of operas and choral music. He has written a dozen operas, including the successful airport-comedy Flight for Glyndebourne. Nearly a million people in the UK watched his television opera When She Died, broadcast by Channel 4 in 2002.
Choral music includes The Three Kings for King's College Cambridge. Instrumental works include a string quartet, a saxophone quartet, a flute concerto, a trombone concerto and a concerto for trumpet, saxophone and strings. He has written scores for over thirty plays, and has been Music Adviser to the Almeida Theatre since 1990. He is currently Artistic Director of the Spitalfields Festival.
