    Simon Proctor
    Simon Proctor graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 1983 with a GRSM degree, LRAM in piano and several prizes for composition, orchestration and piano. This included the Eric Coates Prize - the Academy's top award for orchestral composition. His compositions have been performed throughout the UK, in many European countries, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and very often in America. He has written for a wide range of instruments and ensembles but has specialised in concertos. These include:
    Trumpet Concerto - written for and premiered by John Wallace with Maidstone Symphony Orchestra
    Horn Concerto - John Thurgood, principal ECO and ENO - premiere with British Horn Society
    Trombone Concerto - Ian Bousfield, former principal LSO, now at Vienna with Kent County Youth Orchestra
    Tuba Concerto - premiere in Sydney Australia with Sue Bradley
    Serpent Concerto - many performances in America and the U.K. including twice by Boston Pops Orchestra conducted by film composer John Williams, soloist Doug Yeo
    Keyed Bugle Concerto with world-renowned soloist Ralph Dudgeon - premiere in Richmond Virginia in America
    Viola Concerto - Paul Silverthorne, principal LSO and premiered by Kent County Youth Orchestra.
    Clarinet Concerto - premiered by Emma Johnson
    Bassoon Concerto - commissioned and performed twice by E.C.O.
    Ophilcleide Concerto - performed and recorded by Nick Byrne in Australia
    Plus other concertos for trombone, trumpet, flute, oboe and cello.

    He has more recently been creating piano concertos based on popular music, including his James Bond Piano Concerto, Frank Sinatra Piano Concerto, Andrew Lloyd Webber Piano Concerto, and Queen Piano Concerto. He is currently writing a saxophone concerto for Kyle Horch, professor at The Royal college of Music.

    His works have been broadcast on ITV television, BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Spanish radio and American TV and radio. His new 1970's style musical 'Oh Yeah' staged in London in 2003, and he is working on four other musicals.
    He has given solo recitals in the UK, Germany, The Bahamas and America - where he has also appeared on radio and TV.
