Ray began his career in 1972 as a jobbing musician in bands and theatres, but quickly moved on to the recording industry and television.
In 1974 he joined TV comedians Mike and Bernie Winters as their Musical Director and then in 1975 he joined pop group Guy's and Dolls recording and playing live venues and on TV all over the world.
Ray has worked with many top line stars including Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Dionne Warwick, Jack Jones and Dizzy Gillespie.
In recent years Ray has been Musical Director for over a thousand popular and wide-ranging TV programmes, including Pop Idol, British Acadamy Awards and The Royal Variety Performance and has composed and arranged many TV themes.
