Jim McMillen
Jim McMillen was raised in Arlington, Texas, where he received his degree in music composition and then continued his postgraduate work at California State University, Northridge.
He started his professional career in 1980 touring and recording with blues artist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and wrote several horn arrangements for Gatemouth's Grammy award winning album "Alright Again."
As a record producer Jim has recorded over 50 chamber music and jazz CDs for Vitamin Records, some of which have been featured on Radio,TV and the Winter Olympics.
You may have heard Jim's compositions on the "Vegas" and "Cold Case Files" TV shows, and NFL Superbowl commercials.
As a trombonist he has worked with artists as diverse as Christina Aguilera, Frankie Valley, The Pussycat Dolls and Robert Goulet, and most recently recorded for "Iron Man" the movie.
Currently, Jim is arranging live shows for Universal Theme Parks worldwide. He is also the Principal Trombonist and Assistant Conductor for the Hour Of Power Orchestra which broadcasts each week to over 20 million viewers in 38 countries.
Kathy McMillen
Born Kathlyn Mei Ching and raised in Southern California, Kathy displayed a keen ability in composition from an early age. She graduated with a degree in music composition from the University of California at Los Angeles where she put herself through school as an instrumental accompanist.
As a professional, she led the popular dance band "Sound Current" for a number of years and then retired from the free-lance music scene to concentrate on teaching piano.
Kathy now lives in Pasadena, California and delights her many students with her original arrangements of the popular music of today, written for each with their individual level in mind.
